10 Steps to Happiness

How can being happy be so difficult sometimes??  Fortunately, I was born happy and in spite of everything, I've managed to hang on to that and it's not always been easy!    But I do believe happiness is our natural state of being - we're not here to be miserable, we're here to be happy and joyous!  So here are my 10 Steps towards that.....

1. Believe in Something Greater than just Us

This is def my Number One.  I call it different things - Universal Energy, Spirit, God, Angels,  Guardians.  I believe we are reflections of this Universal Energy; we are part of it, connected by it, bathed in it, supported by it and have it at our disposal to co-create wonderful things with. It's a very comforting and powerful belief to have and this is where the magic happens and you begin to realise that you actually can create and manifest good things in your life. It's not a game of luck after all.

2. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

Focus on the good things in your life, even during bad times, and you will magnetise more of the good and less of the drama. Appreciate others in your life who deserve it and thank them.  Actually, thank the ones who don’t deserve it (in your mind of course) for the things you’ve learned from them!!

3.  Stay Busy but not Frantic & Stressed

Be willing to say 'no' sometimes and manage stress by prioritising what's important and what isn't. Practise quiet me-time everyday, doing whatever helps you relax – meditation, a mindful walk in the park, a hobby, prayer, anything that is purely your space, your time.

4.  Change Your Perspective

Don't take yourself too seriously but look after yourself well. Help others when you can, it often gives you a better perspective on your own worries. But don't always put others first, YOU are important and you need to love and look after No 1 in order to properly love & look after anyone else. Quell the negative mind chatter and find ways and tools to help you do that. Our thoughts create our reality - whether they are positive or negative, the universe gives us what we focus on - so thinking in a positive and happy way is what's going to create a better, happier future.

5.  Make Time for Fun with Friends & Family.

Make happy memories today! Do stuff, plan experiences, days out, holidays, parties with games, use your imagination. What you do today will create all those good memories. Don't let time slip away, make everyday count and don't sweat the small stuff. Bring people together to laugh and have fun, it's the best tonic.

6.  Regularly Make Way for the New

Choose your relationships wisely; have meaningful connections with people who can support you and help you to learn and evolve. Hanging on to negative associations takes up your precious energy and prevents new relationships from flowing to you. Don't be afraid to let things & people go sometimes, especially if your gut instinct tells you it's the right thing to do. Keep your home and workplace free of clutter, allow energy to flow.

7.  Be Kind to Your Body.

Exercise in whatever way makes you feel good. Get outside in the fresh air and kick your shoes off to feel the earth's magnetism beneath your feet, it grounds you. Enjoy a healthy diet and be mindful of the food and drink that you choose; organic and responsibly farmed/grown is best for everyone & the planet. Get enough sleep. Give yourself a break from EMFs regularly - lay off the wifi, phone, laptop and so on. Be mindful of what you spend your money on - if it's not come from a good frequency then it's not good for the frequency of your body or soul.

8.  Create Goals, Continue to Learn

Always have something on the go - a new skill, a hobby, a sport, whatever interests you and makes you happy. It's an investment in yourself which will pay dividends and it doesn't have to cost the earth. It could be as simple as learning something new from a book from the charity shop or a free YouTube video. Set yourself goals and give yourself a pat on the back when you've achieved them.

9.  Don't Judge Yourself

....By other people's standards or what you see in the news and social media. In fact don't judge yourself at all - be kind and gentle with yourself and if you find you are judging yourself then ask why and what for, and try to find a positive and loving way to do something about it. It's OK to be YOU. Explore your own values and beliefs and allow your own uniqueness to shine through, whatever anyone else has to say about it. Adopt a growth mindset and look for silver linings in all the drama, learn from things and move on. Set yourself free from judgement. This is your gig, live it, love it and make the most of it.

10.  Hold Yourself Accountable

Oooh this is a tough one! Yes, your life has likely been shaped along the way by others but you can start to be fully responsible for yourself from any given moment and that's the moment the game starts to change for the better. Try to be mindful of what you do, say, eat, drink, act, react, the whole ten yards! It may not be easy at first and it could seem impossible if bad things have happened in the past, in your childhood and so on. But holding on to blame makes for unhappiness and it's important to find help to release this.
