Stress and Emotions

They say stress causes illness but what does that actually mean? It's not just about being too busy or overloaded, that's symptomatic not causal. Longterm stress is very much about emotions, unresolved issues, traumas, anger, secrets, which have not been able to find an outward expression and have eventually manifested in the body as an illness of some kind.

The dis-ease of inner turmoil, conflict, lack of voice and inability to set our own boundaries causes the body to produce hormonal excesses, cortisol for example, and over time this lowers the immune system and causes inflammatory responses; cells are unable to renew themselves in a healthy manner & the machine begins to break down.
There are other physiological factors, of course, environmental contributors, nutritional deficiences or excesses, but there will almost always be an Emo root which needs to be acknowledged & addressed.

An essential item in my medicine cabinet is Louise Hay's 'Heal your Body', an amazing book which lists just about every disease you can think of, along with its likely emotional root cause. That's generally where I start when I'm trying to work out what's gone wrong with myself or others.  Louise was a teacher I will treasure always.

The essence of natural healing is where the triad of mind, body & spirit are all restored to balance. So it helps to look within when you are trying to heal, you know yourself better than anybody else.
